Through yarning circles, outdoor observations, and creative projects, students will develop their ability to identify natural patterns and reflect on the ways First Nations knowledge systems inform sustainable practices.

This unit introduces students to the concept of cultural fire management. Students will explore the importance of fire as a tool for ecosystem health, the science of carbon storage, and the respect required to carry out these practices safely.
