South Passage – Quandamooka Creation Story

Creation Stories describe how everything comes into being, from the land to the sea. There are many creation stories across First Nations Australia and they vary greatly from country to country. Quandamooka Traditional Custodian Elisha Kissick tells us the creation story of the South Passage, which begins with the theft of Mirapool the wind-caller’s magic shell and ends with the original landmass dividing into two distinct islands, Minjerribah/North Stradbroke and Mulgumpin/Morton Islands.
