Totally Turtle: Animal Classification

In this series of activities, students watch the Taribelang Bunda films Wake Up Meebar, Sea Country and Rangers on Country to explore the life cycles of freshwater and sea turtles. They investigate how scientists classify living things, play a game of animal Celebrity Heads, and create a life cycle wheel.

They learn how Traditional Owners and scientists observe and monitor changes in nature to care for Country. Students then apply these ideas by investigating a local plant, animal or seasonal indicator and creating a seasonal calendar inspired by their own observations.
