The Bangerang people traditionally occupied the Murray/Goulburn region, inhabiting an area spanning from just south of Shepparton, across to Echuca in the west, up to Deniliquin (NSW) in the north, and from Finley to Katandra in the east. The Bangarang are freshwater river people: the Murray, Goulburn, Campaspe, Edwards and Broken Rivers all flowing through our Country.
